Company has three departments, support, sales and marketing. Support is on the first floor with 28 Workstations, Sales on second floor with 30 workstations and marketing on the second floor also with 10 workstations. Each workstation needs to connect to internet, email and company’s internal internet. Also, each department as its own applications that need to be connected throughout the department.
What kind of LAN could be used? Where would the hubs, routers, switches and bridges be located? Hubs and Switches should have a max of 24 ports right? A server is also needed for the email and intranet.. right?

There are many ways to it, you first need cable infrastructure to cover all floors, ideally all terminate at the same location as the server, into a bank of switches.
Then you will need a server, with that company size, you shuold be running at least 2 server, 1 for the Active Directory/DNS and another to handle emails such as Exchange.
It can ce as simple as such but to maixmize performance and security, you really should get experts in to make sure it all works together.
