I have not been a NetZero member in over 6 years. In 2005 I started receiving marketing emails from them. Clicking on the link at the bottom of their emails for non-NetZero members to be removed from their list always took me to an error page. After hunting through their web site, I finally found a toll free phone number that didn’t require me to pay $1.99 a minute to speak to someone and they stopped sending me the emails. In October of 2006 I started getting these emails again; the link for non-members still didn’t work, their was no longer a no fee phone number to call, and I’ve received three emails from spam@netzero.com telling me they would forward my emails to the right person. I’m still getting emails from them. I’ve even notified spam@uce.gov about this, and of course haven’t gotten a response. Anyone else had similar problems? I’d like to know because this seems to me to be the very working definition of spam.

Excerpts from the article: New law to curb email, mobile spam

A new law to curb junk email and SMS (Short Message Service) messages was passed in Parliament on Thursday, 12 April 2007.
While not a magic bullet solution, the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts said the anti-spam law is a start.
It would protect consumers from unwanted messages while still giving businesses some leeway to market their products, added Dr Lee Boon Yang.
Spam is an annoying and expensive problem.
The IDA (Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore) carried out a study in November 2003 and found that email spam caused Singapore users about $23m loss in productivity. The study further revealed that each of the three major local internet service providers or ISPs received close to 5,000 spam-related complaints a month, Dr Lee told Parliament. continue….

I still get scam email asking me to contact someone so that I can help them move money out of their country. Or the ones that will magically make me larger, ya know. Do you know anyone that has gotten scammed lately or have you got a sad story? I just wanted to put this out there because of the market losses. I don’t want anyone taking any silly short cuts to riches. Like those work at home scams. Or pay to get list so you can find work.

I have a Gifts product company and would like to send mass e-mails. I would like to market my product and company in this way. Therefore, I am thinking to purchase a list of e-mails from a third party. I would like to know if you can recommend some legitimate bulking companies I can work with. I would like to conduct an honorable and legal business, can I achieve this?
Also, if you can recommend a server that can carry bulk e-mails? Thanks

1) if I knew that all my clients had my email in their address book would it help?
2) how best to make sure my email address is in their address book?
3) Does it matter if I have a client based as opposed to a web based email provider?
4) Why do some of my marketing emails get in their inbox and some find their way to bulk mail?
